Wen JieReseacher,Doctoral SupervisorWen JieReseacher,Doctoral SupervisorWen Jie is the deputy director general of Institute of Animal Science of CAAS, reseacher, as well as doctoral supervisor. He’s also the Chief Scientist of National System for Broiler Production Technology, candidate of the National Talents Engineering of Ministry of Personnel in China, an outstanding contribution Mid-Aged expert of Ministry of Agriculture and an expert of Ministry of Science And Technology “863” Project.
Besides, Professor Wen is the team leader of National Genetics Improvement Programme for Broilers group, memeber of Naitonal Genetics Poultry Committee, vice president of Poultry Science Association of Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. He’s also the editor in chief of Acta Veterinaria et Zootechnica Sinica.
Professor Wen set significant national or industry standards such as feeding standard of chicken, quality classification of chicken, et al. He has won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of national agricultural harvest award. He had obtained 3 patents in breeding technology. He is the lead author and corresponding author with 40 SCIs. -

Since year 1986, he served in these places as following: Qinhuangdao Animal Husbandry Bureau (as a cadre), Qinhuangdao Broiler Demonstration plant (as deputy director), Qinhuangdao Chia Tai Co., Ltd. (as vice president), Beijing Dafa Chia Tai Co., Ltd. (as vice president), Qinhuangdao Chia Tai Co., Ltd. (as president), Chia Tai Group (as senior vice president for China area), OSI Group (Weihai) Poultry Development Co., Ltd. Currently, He is the senior vice president of Dachan Food Co., Ltd.
Mr. Li used to be a deputy to the peoples congress; he is also the managing director of China Poultry Association. -

Besides the work in commercial sector, he is also involved in activities of multiple trade and education organizations as committee member of SAC/TC261, member of China Meat, Poultry, Aqua Product Expert Committee, Vice President of CAAA, President of China Poultry Branch Association, CAAA, Managing Director of CMA, Managing Director of CNFIA, Poultry Branch Director of CCCFNA, visiting professor and MBA class deliver of China Agriculture University. -
Frank YiannasVice President of Food SafetyFrank YiannasVice President of Food SafetyAs Vice President of Food Safety, Frank Yiannas oversees all food safety, as well as other public health functions, for the world’s largest food retailer, Wal-Mart.
Prior to joining Wal-Mart in 2008, Frank was the Director of Safety & Health for the Walt Disney World Company, where he worked for 19 years. In 2001, under his tenure, Walt Disney World received the prestigious Black Pearl Award for corporate excellence in food safety by the International Association for Food Protection.
In 2008, Frank was given the Collaboration Award by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He is the 2007 recipient of the NSF International Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Food Safety. Frank is also a Past President of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) and a current Board Member of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
Frank is a Registered Microbiologist with the American Academy of Microbiology. He holds memberships with several professional associations. He received his BS in Microbiology from the University of Central Florida and his Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of South Florida. He is the author of the book,Food Safety Culture, Creating a Behavior-based Food Safety Management System. -
Mike GobleChairman of the United Nations FAO Feed Consortium, Executive Vice President & COO of Diamond VMike GobleChairman of the United Nations FAO Feed Consortium, Executive Vice President & COO of Diamond VMr. Goble received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at Purdue University in 1985 with special emphasis in fermentation technologies.
Mr. Goble has 29 years of practical experience in engineering and fermentation technology design, implementation and optimization in the fields of foods, feeds and industrial enzymes with Cargill, Genencor International (subsidiary of DuPont) and Diamond V. Mr. Goble has lead the design, construction and operations of eight new fermentation facilities and redesigned three throughout his career.
Mr. Goble joined Diamond V in October 1995 and currently holds the position of executive vice-president and chief operating officer, overseeing all aspects of operations within Diamond V (animal fermentation products) and Embria Health Sciences (human fermentation products). Mr. Goble’s responsibilities also include oversight of Diamond V’s innovation program, including new product development and their state of the art research and innovation center. In addition, Mr. Goble is the executive officer that oversees the company’s business units in China, Asia and Europe.
Mr. Goble has lead the Diamond V efforts in China since 1999, at which time he oversaw the construction of the facilities, hired the start-up team and assisted in obtaining the business licenses as a wholly owned subsidiary of Diamond V. Mr. Goble spends about 30% of his time traveling to support the growth efforts of the organization and has spent about more than 3 years (cumulative) in China over the past 14 years.
Mr. Goble currently holds the position of Chairman of the United Nations FAO Feed Consortium that is focused on the LEAP (Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance) partnership to develop a globally harmonized LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology for environmental footprinting in an effort to create sustainable safe affordable food for the growing global population. -
Doug Smith, Ph.D.Senior International Poultry Expert, Food Safety Director of Diamond VDoug Smith, Ph.D.Senior International Poultry Expert, Food Safety Director of Diamond VDr. Smith joined the Diamond V North America Poultry Team in 2014 with more than 20 years of experience in food safety research, having published 98 refereed journal articles. He also has published more than 200 other publications, including book chapters, conference proceedings, and trade journal articles.
Dr. Smith was previously an associate professor in the Prestage Department of Poultry Science at North Carolina State University and an adjunct professor at Clemson University’s Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Science. He also has been a research food technologist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service, an assistant professor in Poultry Science at the University of Georgia, and director of quality assurance with OK Foods in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
A long-standing member of the Poultry Science Association, Dr. Smith also has memberships in the World’s Poultry Science Association and the International Association for Food Protection. In addition, he is certified as an instructor for both Servsafe and HACCP.
Dr. Smith received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Poultry Science from the University of Georgia and was awarded both the Sigma Xi Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award and the Poultry Science Association’s Graduate Student Research Paper Certificate of Excellence.
At Diamond V, Dr. Smith has a leading role in advancing Diamond V’s food safety initiatives, especially in the area of pre-harvest food safety. Efforts include working with poultry producers and processors, regulatory agencies, food retailers, and consumer groups. -
Cao JishengPresidentCao JishengPresidentMr. Cao Jisheng was born in 1960 in Yantai City of Shandong province. He passed college entrance examination in the 2nd year after it’s resumed in China and then started his 4-year study in Shandong Agricultural School from Spet. of 1978 until Jul. of 1982, majored in veterinary discipline of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Dept.. In 1992, he joined the Communist Party of China. From Spet. of 2001 to Jul of 2003 Mr. Cao enrolled at CEIBS and gained MBA degree. Mr. Cao is chairman of Shangdong Yisheng Livestock & Poultry Breeding Co., Ltd. Meanwhile, he also serves as Vice Chairman of the 12nd Executive Committee of Yantai Industry and Commerce Association, member of the 12th committee of YantaiCity’s Political Consultative Conference, associate professor of Qingdao Agricultural University and Shandong Agricultural University, permanent guest professor of China Agricultural University, Vice President of Shandong Animal Agriculture Association, deputy of Shandong Province to the 12nd People’s Congress, Executive President of National Poultry Industry Association, CAAA, Vice President of CAAA, Vice President of the 3rd Management Board of CSFAFE, as well as member of the Supervision and Assessment Committee of Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System, MOA. -
Philip J WilkinsonDirector , Vice PresidentPhilip J WilkinsonDirector , Vice PresidentAfter studying agriculture at Askham Bryan, Philip chose the dairy industry for his career. He progressed through a range of senior roles within the industry, culminating in that of commercial director of Arla Foods plc. During this time he studied Agribusiness at Harvard Business School.
Throughout his career Philip held several industry positions including Chairmanship of the Dairy Council and National Dairy Farm Assured Ltd. He was awarded an OBE for services to the dairy industry in 2003.
Upon leaving the dairy sector, Philip became Managing Director of Grampian Country Food Group’s integrated chicken business and in 2006 joined 2 Sisters Food Group. He is a Director of the Red Tractor Poultry Sector Board, the British Poultry Council and Vice President and Council Member of AVEC (Association of Poultry Processors and Poultry Trade in the EU). -

Prior to join in Tyson, he worked more than 25 years in the poultry production industry in China. His industry work experiences consisted of all aspects of poultry operations and sales/marketing management. His operation experience includes management of feed mills, breeder farm, hatchery and broiler operations, contract farms , slaughterhouse, and processing operations. In addition, he has directly managed relative sales and marketing activities, as well as Chinese strategy development activities. -

He has edited magazines covering the U.S. broiler, turkey and egg industries. Prior to joining WATT in 2000, he worked for U.S. poultry companies for 14 years. While working with both turkeys and broilers, O’Keefe served in variety of roles ranging from field service person visiting farms, financial analyst, production scheduler, deboning line supervisor, department manager, night shift manager and plant general manger. O’Keefe has a B.S. in Biology as well as Maters degrees in Poultry Science and Business Administration. -

In this role, Chris is overseeing the development of a fully integrated, company owned, broiler supply chain in China. Prior to assuming his current role, Chris served as the President of Cargill Ag Horizons United States, Cargill’s U.S. grain and crop input business.
Having joined Cargill in 1995, Chris previously served as General Manager of Cargill’s animal nutrition businesses in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, China, Spain and Portugal; global Vice-President of Cargill Animal Nutrition business; and Vice President for Process Improvement at Tartan.
Prior to Cargill, Chris worked with the U.S. Grain Council as the South East Asia Regional Director, based in Kuala Lumpur, and Trade Servicing Manager for Europe, Middle East and Former Soviet Union, based in Washington, DC.
Chris earned a Master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and Bachelor degrees in English Literature and Political Science from the University of South Dakota, USA.
Chris, his wife Chen Jie and two daughters, have lived in Shanghai since 2011. -

Dr Gregory R SiragusaSenior Principal Scientist – MicrobiologyDr Gregory R SiragusaSenior Principal Scientist – MicrobiologyDr Gregory R Siragusa, Senior Principal Scientist – Microbiology, DuPont, obtained his Ph.D. in 1989 from the University of Arkansas in food microbiology under the professorship of Dr. Michael Johnson. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Microbiology from Louisiana State University.
From 1990 until 2007 he was a research microbiologist and lead scientist with the Agricultural Research Service (ARS-USDA) at Clay Center, Nebraska, with the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center and the Poultry Microbiology Safety Research Unit in Athens, Georgia. He was named Outstanding Lead Scientist for Food Safety Microbiology within the ARS. In 2007 he joined Agtech Products in Waukesha, Wisconsin, as director of R&D for poultry gut microbiology/probiotics and food quality and safety. He specializes in food microbiology and microbial ecology of foods and intestinal or gut microbial ecology and its modulation through probiotics.
Following acquisitions by Danisco and DuPont, Siragusa is currently a senior principal scientist in the Antimicrobials and Antioxidants Research Team conducting research on food microbial ecology (detect and protect) and enzymatic antimicrobial enzyme applications for food preservation. He also directs field work in Kenya at the Egerton University and in developing new food antimicrobials with colleagues in Brabrand, Denmark. -

During the period from 2003-2005, he pursued his postdoctoral study at Hokkaido University. Dr. Huang is the director of Nanjing Meat Products Processing Industry Center, president of NAU Meat Products Co., Ltd., managing director of Chinese Association of Animal Products Processing. Dr. Huang who has more than 100 research papers published and boasts one Second Award for National Scientific and Technological Progress and one of ministerial level was once in charge of more than ten national and ministerial level research projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) research projects, National High Technology Research and Development Program (HTRDP 863) and Agricultural Industry Research Projects. In addition to these honors, he still possesses 12 authorized patents of invention.
