Richard Han

Dr. Richard Han has more than 25 years extensive experiences in technical services, customer education, business management, and nutritional research in world’s leading none-profitable organization, feed production company, feed additive production and marketing company, and research institute. Currently Dr. Han is with U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) serving as the Animal Utilization Technical Director, responsible for developing and implementing promotion and education programs and budgets in China for livestock, poultry, and feed industries to create and expand the demand for US soybeans. Prior to joining USSEC, Dr. Han was at Global Nutrition Inc. as the Business Development Manager for Northeast Asia and Managing Director for Global Animal Nutrition (Shanghai). Earlier with Danisco Animal Nutrition, Dr. Han served as both Business Manager and Technical Service Manager for Northeast Asia, as well as Technical Service Manager for Canada and Western USA. Prior to that Dr. Han worked for Ralston Purina International in China as Technical Services Manager, Premix Business Manager, and R & D/Marketing Director. Dr. Han also worked as Visiting Assistant Professor and Research Associate at the University of Illinois, with joint appointment with Ajinomoto Co. and the University of Illinois, focusing on energy and amino acid nutrition research and feed ingredient evaluation. Dr. Han, together with Dr. D.H. Baker, a member of the US Academy of Science, were the very first proposed the Ideal Protein concept and model for broilers, now being widely adopted by the industry worldwide. Dr. Han received both his Master’s degree and Ph.D. degree in animal nutrition from the University of Illinois, U.S.A., and his bachelor’s degree from Tarim University, China.
